 “肥岛”是荒漠草原生态系统灌丛植被富集养分、维持自身生存的普遍现象,其对灌丛以及草原生态系统的结构和功能都具有重要影响。通过对柠条(Caragana korshinskii)和油蒿(Artemisia ordosica)2种不同植被类型灌丛的3种生境(冠下、冠缘和灌丛间地)的土壤进行采样、测试和分析。结果表明:1)柠条和油蒿灌丛均存在“肥岛”现象,主要在表层土壤(0~20 cm)表现得最为明显,其土壤养分指标与灌丛间土壤的差异随土壤深度增加而降低;2)从“肥岛”的空间尺度来看,油蒿“肥岛”的水平范围超出了本身冠幅覆盖区,而柠条“肥岛”相对小于本身冠幅覆盖区,其作用深度亦小于油蒿,体现了灌丛对土壤养分富集的物种效应;3)同一物种灌丛对土壤不同养分元素的富集作用有差异性。总体来说,研究区灌丛“肥岛”的发育具有明显的物种效应,相对柠条而言,油蒿灌丛土壤养分聚集效应更明显,其原因主要是油蒿灌丛低矮和茂密的冠层空间结构更利于凋落物的捕获与保存,较多凋落物的输入与土壤结构和养分间的正反馈机制加速了油蒿冠下土壤生物地球化学循环,使其“肥岛”效应能达到更广、更深的空间范围。
Abstract:
 “Fertile island”(FI) is a phenomena occurring in the soils of the shrubs in desert steppe ecosystem,in which nutrients are enriched by the vegetations to survive.It has significant effects on the structures and functions of the shrubs,as well as steppe ecosystems.In this study,soil samples were collected from two shrub species,Caragana korshinskii and Artemisia ordosica in 3 locations: under the canopy,canopy periphery,and interspace.The nutrients in the soil samples were measured and analyzed.The results showed that,1) both shrub species existed FI phenomenon,manifested mainly in the surface soil (0-20 cm),differences in soil nutrients decreased with the increase of soil depth.2) In the view of spatial scale,the level of FI in A.ordosica was beyond the crown coverage area,while for C.korshinskii,it was smaller than the crown area,and the depth of interaction was also smaller than A.ordosica,reflecting the differences of soil nutrient enrichment among shrub species.3) Within the same species,the abilities to enrich different nutrients were different.Overall,the development FI in shrubs demonstrated obvious species effects,compared to C.korshinskii,A.ordosica exhibited significant soil nutrient aggregation effect.Because A.ordosica was a low shrub with dense canopy,which was favorable to collect and conserve litter,more litter input and its positive feedback to soil nutrients accelerated the A.ordosica crown soil biogeochemical cycles,making the FI effect wider and deeper.
